The launch of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) brings together champions for change in the midst of major transformation in the energy sector. Energy transformation is about quality of life and economic vibrancy. 

People of color will only strengthen the industry, enhance our economic vitality and move Minnesota forward. 

The Why Behind AABE Minnesota

The Minnesota Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy seeks to increase access, opportunity, and ownership for Black and other communities of color in the energy sector and related fields, through a focus on community engagement, policy, economic inclusion and education / professional development.

Our Main Focus

Goal #1

Develop shared knowledge and engage in outreach to inform the Black community and other communities of color about opportunities and needs, encourage participation and community ownership.

 

Goal #2

With the focus on Black community and other communities of color to ensure wealth creation and issues of environmental justice are addressed on the legislative level and representation on taskforces, committees, and other tables of influence.

 

Goal #3

Economic Inclusion, talent pipeline development, career advancement, leadership positions, supplier participation in energy related contracts and accelerated company growth in the Black community and other communities of color.

 

Goal #4

Support training programs for Black community and other communities of color; partnerships with career development centers, alliances with unions and technical schools and scholarships for education and career training.
